Overview
Founded in 1993 by Jean Tran Thanh Van, the association Rencontres du Vietnam, a non-profit organization and an official partner of UNESCO, has as its objective the promotion of international exchanges between Vietnam and the international community, particularly in the areas of science and education. It also aims at the encouragement and integration of Vietnamese scientists into the international scientific community and at supporting the role of education and science by encouraging scientific awareness and stimulating passion for science in the younger generation. The Rencontres du Vietnam lies within the scope of two series of scientific meetings created by Jean Tran Thanh Van: the Rencontres de Moriond in 1966 and the Rencontres de Blois in 1989.
The creation of the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science Education (ICISE) in the city of Quy Nhon (Central Vietnam) has the ambitious objective to focus on developing Science and Education by fostering exchanges between Asia-Pacific scientists and colleagues from other parts of the world.
The ICISE campus is located approximately 6 km from the city center of Quy Nhon, in a scenic coastal setting surrounded by mountains. The conference facilities include a fully equipped lecture hall with audiovisual systems and wireless connectivity. ICISE offers a peaceful academic environment, characterized by palm-lined grounds and a beautiful coastline, providing an ideal venue for scientific exchange and collaboration.

Following the success of NanoBioCoM2023, NanoBioCoM2024, and NanoBioCoM2025, NanoBioCoM2026 conference will continue this established series with a primary focus on both fundamental and applied research in Nano Biotechnology, Biophysics, and Computational Approaches addressing current challenges in life sciences. The conference will provide participants with valuable insights into emerging methodologies and evolving research directions across the broad domain of Nano Life Sciences. NanoBioCoM2026 will be held at the International Center for Science and Interdisciplinary Education (ICISE) in Quy Nhon, Gia Lai Province, Vietnam.
Biophysics is a rapidly developing interdisciplinary field that integrates principles and methodologies from physics and biology to investigate the physical foundations of biological systems. The discipline seeks to elucidate the mechanisms governing the structure, function, and dynamic behavior of biological molecules, cells, tissues, and organisms. In nano life sciences, reconciling observations obtained from single-molecule experiments with those derived from ensemble-averaged measurements remains a fundamental scientific challenge. This conference aims to present a comprehensive range of experimental and computational approaches that address these issues and advance our understanding of biological processes at the nanoscale.
Vietnam, a dynamic and rapidly developing country with a population of nearly 100 million people, is actively promoting research in nano life sciences. Current research activities span nano biotechnology, including nanomedicine, biomolecular nanosystems, nanobiohybrids, nanoscale biostructures, nano-based biosensors, and advanced fluorescence techniques such as FRET/FLIM as well as biophysical methodologies including AFM and its advanced modes (HS-AFM, FM-AFM), SICM, electron microscopy (TEM, SEM, Cryo-ET, time-resolved Cryo-EM), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and advanced optical microscopy techniques such as TIRFM, Confocal Microscopy, Light Sheet Microscopy (LSM), STED, PALM, and STORM. Rapid advances in computational and data-driven approaches are also playing an increasingly important role, including molecular dynamics simulations, coarse-grained modeling, normal mode analysis, computer vision, and machine learning and deep-learning–based tools for microscopy data analysis and structural reconstruction.
NanoBioCoM2026 aims to further stimulate these research activities by bringing together leading experts from Vietnam and abroad to deliver structured scientific lectures and presentations on key topics in nano life sciences. Invited lectures will be designed to provide both educational and research-oriented perspectives. Each lecture will begin with a concise overview of the theoretical background and historical development of the field at a level suitable for advanced postgraduate students and professional researchers, followed by presentations of the speakers’ original research contributions within the broader scientific context. The keynote and invited presentations will be complemented by approximately 150 poster and short oral contributions from members of the Vietnamese Biophysical Society, the Microscopy Society of Vietnam, the Vietnamese Physical Society, the Vietnamese Theoretical Physics Society, and the broader Nano Life Science community.
The conference will provide an interdisciplinary forum for researchers to present recent scientific results, exchange knowledge and experience, and discuss emerging innovations, trends, and challenges in Nano Biotechnology, Biophysics, and Computational Life Sciences. It will also offer valuable opportunities to strengthen existing collaborations and establish new multidisciplinary research networks.
