Polarimetry is considered the third eye of humankind into the Universe, besides photometry and spectroscopy. We are living in the golden era of dust polarimetry in which dust polarization is observed by the most powerful observatories (ALMA, NOEMA, IRAM/Nika2-Pol, SOFIA/HAWC+, JCMT/Pol2, APEX/A-mKID, TolTec, BLASTPOL), spanning all scales of the Universe, from the galactic scales to the ISM, molecular clouds, to star-forming and planet-forming regions to debris disks, and envelopes of dying stars. Dust polarization is also observed in the environment of cosmic transients. The fundamental theory underlying dust polarization has been developed to the level of predictive and quantitative. Numerical modeling and computational simulations can create synthetic polarization data that directly compare with real observational data. The synergy of theory, computation, and observations promises dust polarimetry to become an accurate diagnostic of astrophysics, which can help resolve the long-standing questions and potentially open new frontiers of astrophysics.
Following our first workshop in 2022, this 2023 workshop will bring together experts to discuss the research results from on-going collaboration and discuss potential topics for future collaboration.XVIIIth Rencontres du Vietnam

Founded in 1993 by Jean Tran Thanh Van, the association Rencontres du Vietnam, a non-profit organization and an official partner of UNESCO, has as its objective the promotion of international exchanges between Vietnam and the international community, particularly in the areas of science and education. It also aims at the encouragement and integration of Vietnamese scientists into the international scientific community and at supporting the role of education and science by encouraging scientific awareness and stimulating passion for science in the younger generation. The Rencontres du Vietnam lies within the scope of two series of scientific meetings created by Jean Tran Thanh Van : the Rencontres de Moriond in 1966 and the Rencontres de Blois in 1989.
The creation of the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science Education (ICISE) in the city of Quy Nhon (Central Vietnam) has the ambitious objective to focus on developing Science and Education by fostering exchanges between Asia-Pacific scientists and colleagues from other parts of the world.
Simons Astrophysics Group at ICISE (SAGI) is founded in 2022 under the grant awarded by the Simons Foundation. Our main mission is to foster collaborative research in astrophysics between international experts and the local researchers and to train young researchers in Astrophysics.
