The 29th Vietnam School of Physics is a scientific event held at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE). This annual event aims to connect students and young researchers who are beginning their passion for physics with contemporary and future science and technology. VSOP offers a series of lectures covering fundamental and core topics in two emerging research fields: Quantum Electronics and Quantum Photonics. Notably, participants will have the opportunity to engage with research topics currently being conducted by the lecturers. Research methodologies, particularly computational and analytical methods, are practically conveyed throughout the course.
Electronics and Photonics are two major technological fields that shape modern industries as we know them today. These fields focus on developing and enhancing devices for various applications. Their advancement fundamentally relies on the knowledge and ability to manipulate the behavior of electrons and light, as well as light-matter interactions. Over five decades of development, the miniaturization of semiconductor-based building blocks has led to the emergence of numerous subfields. At the quantum level, researchers must work with the intrinsic nature of electrons and photons. Understanding photons as the particles that mediate interactions between charged particles, such as electrons, opens up new possibilities for developing novel quantum devices, thereby establishing the fields of Quantum Electronics and Quantum Photonics.
With the goal of connecting and guiding students and young researchers at the beginning of their passion for physics toward contemporary and future science and technology, VSOP provides a series of lectures covering fundamental and foundational topics in two emerging research areas: "Quantum Electronics and Quantum Photonics: Fundamental Physics and Advanced Computational Methods." All lectures are designed to bridge the basic knowledge acquired at the undergraduate level to advanced levels. In particular, participants will have the chance to explore research topics that the lecturers are actively working on. Research methodologies, especially computational and analytical methods, are practically imparted throughout all courses.
